Surrender your TX
Went to an Army Camp today. Security has been stepped up since Sept 11. There is a guard deployed at the gate to check visitors' bags.
As I open my bag for the guard to check, he asked if my handphone has a camera. My reply was yes. (in fact, its a 2megapix camera!) He told me to surrender it and put it in the locker provided at the guard house. Fair enough. Camera poses a serious security threat. Afterall, someone could use a camera phone to take picture of buildings in the camp or picture of classified documents etc etc.
Then he saw my TX and told me to surrender it together with my handphone. What? No PDA in the army camp? But what can a PDA do that threaten the security of the camp? My TX doesn’t have camera or scanner. It has nothing. It’s just an organizer with a processor that can run many programs. What danger does a TX pose to an army camp?
I’m still wondering……
(PS: anyway, I surrendered my TX without question. After all, the guard is following instructions passed down from the top. Why make the guard's life difficult?)
